Terms of service

These terms apply to the use of Knookee. Please read them. If you do not agree with something, do not use the service.

The provider

[operator name, registered address, company number, tax number], email: [email address]. Knookee is a notification service for families and small teams. It is not a chat app.

What the service does

With one tap you can send a knock to the members of your group: a template, a short text, a location, an image or a voice note of up to 10 seconds. Members get a notification on every device where they are signed in.

Important: it does not replace emergency services

Knookee does not replace emergency services. In case of danger to life or when you need urgent help, call your local emergency number (112 in the European Union). Delivery of notifications also depends on your phone, the network and the system settings, so it cannot be guaranteed.

Subscription and price

The person who creates the group (the owner) pays a yearly subscription for the group on the web. The app is free for invited members. The current price is shown on the website, and the amount and the VAT are shown before you pay. Stripe handles the payment, we issue the invoice.

Withdrawal

As a consumer you can withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving a reason. If you ask for the service to start immediately you have to expressly agree to that when you pay, and then you owe a proportionate part of the price for the service already used. You can tell us about your withdrawal in the Contact section or by email.

Expiry and suspension

Before the subscription expires we send you a reminder with a payment link. If the fee does not arrive after expiry the group is suspended: members cannot send or receive knocks, and the owner gets access back immediately after paying. The data of a suspended group is deleted after a set time, and we tell you before that.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service for anything unlawful, for harassment, unsolicited mass messages, deceiving others or disturbing the system. You are responsible for the content you send. If you break these terms we may limit or end your access.

Account and ending

You can delete your account at any time in your profile or in the app. If the owner deletes their account a co-admin can take over the group, otherwise the group is suspended.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we provide the service "as is" and we do not promise uninterrupted or error free operation. We are not liable for damage caused by delayed or missing notifications, except for intent or gross negligence and what the law does not allow us to exclude.

Privacy and changes

You can read how we handle your data in the Privacy notice. If we change these terms in a meaningful way we tell you in advance, and older versions stay available. Hungarian law applies, and your mandatory consumer rights remain.
